Welcome to Gradpoint at Wake Forest High School. Gradpoint is a digital learning credit recovery system for grades 6-12. It is offered at all high schools in Wake County. Your student is enrolled because he/she needs this course to graduate from high school. This website is created to help students and parents remain abreast of work completed for students enrolled in a course.
This information is also given when a student enrolls in class. Ask them about it! Hopefully, this site will answer the most prominent question, "How is my student doing in class ?". Please, use the Pacing Chart on the Pacing Tab. It's most important to compare the % of Course Complete found on the Pacing Chart to the % that's shown in their curriculum.
I will be using the grades issued by Gradpoint. Gradpoint only issues test grades and percent of curriculum complete. It is imperative that the student does his/her best work in this course.
The final grade will be calculated by using the Grade Percentages below. If the grade is passing (59.5 or higher) then the letter grade of "P" is issued. If the grade is failing, (59.4 or lower) then the letter of "F" is issued.
The grade in Powerschools is taken from the Student Activity Report that is generated by Gradpoint and I use this information to update the weekly grade on Friday. I use the Current Grade and the % of Course Complete from the report. Your student must make at least a grade of 70 to progress to the next assignment. If his/her % of Course Complete is not greater than the % Complete on the Pacing Chart by the given date, it will greatly impact their grade. It is very important that students stay on pace!
NOTE: In the event that the student starts later than the beginning of the semester, they must still complete the work for the entire course by the end of the semester.
